Restaurants and Bars

Ensenada is the biggest little town in Baja.  It truly caters to the tourists that come from across the border, from other parts of Mexico and from all over the world.  Dining in Ensenada can be as casual as awesome tacos found at stand-up taco bars, to fine dining for intimate settings or power lunches and dinners with clients. 

Here are some recommendations for various occasions:

Tacos  -  when hunger sets in and you're on the go:

Mexico Lindo -  This traditional Mexican taco bar, located at the north end of Calle Primera next door to Hussongs, can be found close to the corner of Calle Primera and Calle Ruiz.  This is your traditional sit down taco bar, with additional table seating as well.  Choices consist of quality tacos of all types, incluing carne asada, baja-style fish tacos, fire seared pork tacos, home made salsas, burritos and other Mexican specialties.  They also serve cold Mexican beer and a variety of tequilas and other spirits.

Good affordable seafood:

Casamar  -  Located on the main boulevard, one block south of the Mexican flag.  This is a family style Mexican seafood restaurant.

Mariscos Bahia  -  Located at the corner of Calle Riverol and Calle Primera, cross-corner from the Bahia Hotel's Tortuga restaurant.  This is a family style restaurant that has the feel of a fish market.  Very reasonably priced and with a nice harbor view from the upper level. 

Fine Dining in Ensenada:

El Rey Sol  -   This is fine dining at its best in Ensenada.  Specialties include filet mignon, lobster and other fine cuts of meats.  Reservations recomended.  This place is great for special occasions, groups looking for fine dining and great service, or for entertaining business guests.

La Esquina  - The best kept secret in Ensenada.  Located in the Ensenada wine district on Calle Gastelum, this restaurant occupies an old wine celler that has been transformed into an art exhibit hall and restaurant.  They also have a small wine cellar where you can buy wines from the local Ensenada wineries.  The menu changes daily and La Esquina has one of the best chefs in town.  Entrees include pastas, fine meats, gourmet salads and delicious appetizers. Very reasonably priced too!

Las Bodegas de Santo Thomas  -  Down the street from La Esquina.  Las Bodegas is also situated in an old winery.  This fine dining restaurant rivals El Rey Sol, with its fine food and excellent service, but with a wine district ambience about it.

Mexican food and more:

Cafe Pueblo  -   Located cross-corner from Hussongs on Calle Primera.  They feature a variety of up-beat Mexican dishes, pizza, pasta, hamburgers and specialty salads.  They also have a full bar and live bands in the evenings.  

We offer a comfortable casual setting where you can wind down with
friends, or family.  Sit back and enjoy our full service bar, while you wind down to a 
wide variety of popular music, jazz and traditional Mexican recorded sounds.  

And don't miss our live Trio on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Palapaloca Bar and Cafe - Bullo's place!

This tropical hangout features an upper-level outdoor patio with a harbor view, great full bar 
and cafe, plus an outdoor sand beach volleyball court.  

We're located on the Boulevard, three blocks south of the Malecon marina boardwalk.
